Specialist in Intensive Care and Neuro-pathophysiology, former Director of the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit & contract Professor in Intensive Care and Neurosurgery, Verona University City Hospital, and Medical Advisor at the Italian National Transplant Centre for DBD & DCD national projects and quality programs.

Previously: Ministry expert in the National Transplant Council and the Italian Health Council; Member of the WHO Task Force on Donation and Transplantation; President of the European Society of Transplant Coordinators (ETCO); Chairman of the European Certification of TCs.

Recently, member of the WG “Unifying Concept of Death” in the ONT-WHO- ESOT-TTS Santander Summit, and Co-chair of the ESOT international DCD consensus.  
Main clinical experience: treatment of severe brain trauma and acute cerebral lesions, cerebral monitoring and critical care neurophysiology, pathophysiology of coma and brain death, death determination by neurological and circulatory criteria, potential organ donor management, quality indicators in DBD and DCD programs.
